AUTONOMY

arteria

Hey friends.

A hundred days

On the 20th June 2021 - TRACHI: AUTONOMY 1.0 was released. One year later, operation arteria will conclude. And with that, the first game in the TRACHI series is laid to a peaceful rest. To sleep, and to never wake up again.

In non-cryptic words: The final build of AUTONOMY, 1.5 (arteria) will be released on June 20th.

It's not a huge update. More of a last sweep, before the lights go out. The biggest change comes in the shape of a few new BGM pieces. Or to be more precise, some tracks had to be replaced due to licensing uncertainties, especially in terms of sustainability. For that matter, there is now also a full license document included.

The title screen has also been updated to be more in line with the new branding:

Smooth, isn't it?

Lastly, a couple of character names have been adjusted: - Terence Prawnfield -> Teron Pravoskos - Johan Fairclough -> Ioanis Fero - Laurits Farnswood -> Laurits Faber - Rupert Starling -> Rupert Sternlein This is mostly for authenticity reasons and to ensure continuity. A few lines of dialogue have also been slightly polished, and one area more or less revamped.

Regardless of all these things, I want to make one thing abundantly clear: If you've played through TRACHI 1.4, there's no need for you to go back and replay it for story reasons.

However, and here we get to the second point: It's a great opportunity to replay it, if you haven't.

Beta

Because I just pushed the beta build. So whenever you feel eager to dance again, you can opt in through the usual Steam procedure. Savegames should also be compatible.

So with all that being said - I have a proposal. If you play the beta and find a bug or something, let me know. And I'll put you in the credits. Yeah, just like that. And since I won't touch AUTONOMY anymore after June, it'll stay there forever.

In any case, the offer stands. And I'd be delighted to hear from you. If not, I'll see you on the 20th June, at the latest. Where we'll also talk a bit about AUTARKY and what else is coming when.

Until then, have a great time, everyone of you.

Much love

Penultimate

Heyo, friends!

Initially, I wanted to pick up where I left. But knowing me, this won't end well. So let's get to it. First of all, there's a slight change of schedule. I mentioned the 15th of May in the previous devlog. But I double checked the original release date, and TRACHI 1.0 actually came out more than a month later. Let's go with that one, then!

On the 20th of May, the final iteration of TRACHI: AUTONOMY will be released. With a last round of bugfixes, Version 1.5 (arteria) will officially conclude Stage 1.

Now, as I mentioned previously, there's some cleaning up to do. I want to leave AUTONOMY in a shape where I don't need to go back to it, ever again. And part of that involves removing certain pieces of BGM for licencing reasons. I did my best to find adequate replacements, and hope you'll like them, too. But I want to apologize for this, regardless. I didn't expect for TRACHI to garner attention that quickly. So I guess that's the silver lining. And a great one at that! In concrete terms, AUTONOMY has been added to close to 8k Steam libraries. And garnered around 2.5 million impressions. Which means I'll have to think in bigger categories in terms of licensing, from now on. There's more, though. Two things, in fact. First, the title screen. Take a look at this:

Nostalgia

Hey friends!

We haven't seen much of each other lately, haven't we? To be honest, I've been dreading this moment a bit. Which is probably the reason why I procrastinated my way around this. Don't get me wrong, there's great times ahead. And I'm yearning to tell you all about it. But first, there's something else we need to talk about. Do you remember when the first iteration of TRACHI was released? The 30th August, 2019.

Three and a half years ago

I was in the middle of writing my bachelor's thesis - and both super exhausted and way ahead of schedule. So I decided to take a little break. And set my eyes on TRACHI. It was just a little side-project at that time. A fallback option for when I had an itch to express myself, but found every other option lacking. A place for me to recite things. For one week, however, I wanted to pool everything I had into it.

And so I did. I polished and tried to fill the blanks wherever I could. Frankly, I don't even remember much about that time, as so much has happened in-between. But there is one thing which I will never forget.
